wake up the sun is still there, and not a cloud!
We take the road to Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. A beautiful spa park!
Luckily we arrived at 9:45 am and at 10:15 they activate a geyser! It just 5min drive from the park. When we arrived there a park employee activates the geyser by putting 3cailloux of I do not know what. The geyser begins to foam and then the pressure increases and a huge jet of water more than 5 meters out of the ground! It's really impressive.
The rash lasts about 1 hour, but left after just 15min to see the next hot mud ponds. The mud made a funny noise when the bubbles burst!
It then returns to the park to visit. Tons of steaming pools, some may reach over 100 ° c, and suffers cracks. It's beautiful and impressive, really. We spend 2 hours to stroll in the park.
Our preferences are still going to the Champagne Pool and the pool that looks like neon green looks Cedric the dip of Roger Rabbit! But everything had to cut the sulfur (huh hahaha ... pardon the breath).
then taken to the road Whaarewarewa. It is a Maori village which is built on a thermal area. 26 Maori families living there. We attended a show in Maori and it has even been trying to dance was great! We learned to say the vowels in Maori, which are actually the same as in French. Then we had all stood up and we moved our hands in rhythm as they showed us. They have also made a demonstration of poi-poi, a sort of bolas used only by women.
When men drew their language and their eyes opened wide, it was really fear, no wonder the Warriors used this technique to frighten their opponents! You could take pictures but I feel uncomfortable doing that, I think it's rather the kind of thing that lives and remembers.
Then we did a walk around the site and we could see a geyser eruption of more than 10m and it was also a walk on a bridge over a lake of boiling and steaming. Very beautiful!
At 3am Cedric went to rest in the van and I made a visit guided the site with a Maori guide who had things very simpa! She made us sit on the floor which was quite warm due to the thermal activity below. There are even "baths" dug into the ground and in summer when the water rises ls can bathe in hot water! It
We were then guided into the village saying they were using pools of hot water to cook the corn and other vegetables by placing them in bottles. Cooking takes about 30 seconds while!
After the visit we went to Rotorua and we found the rotten egg smell that floats in the city because of the suffering!
We went to park near the same park as last time for the night.
Today is 18, Mary called me in tears of Auckland. She left New Zealand. There.
I have a huge knot in my stomach told me it starts. The next time I would see what will be in France. And we're coming from. Some will find it
stupid to react like that after only eight months spent in a country. But as it was me that fell in love with this place, you are met wonderful people, it has grown and flourished there, we spent there a little bit of our lives and certainly the best at the moment 8 months to smile all the time. We find always full of beautiful things in France but leave behind all those of New Zealand is not easy. I miss her already
this friend so far away. I hope it fits well and with a smile!
