Waking up in Ohakune, the grass around us is snow white!
We decided to go see the mountains right next to but because of snow the road does not open until 10am. So we will take a turn in the center and I want to go to the drugstore to buy a new syrup! Provided that this one works!
At 10am, it's open but quickly made a U-turn because of the icy road completely. We prefer not to take any risks! (Suddenly I hear the voice of my mother in my head: "A wise decision")
Before ....
... later!
palms in the snow!
It therefore takes the road under a cloudless blue sky to the Castle Tongariro.
But again not to go further even with chains, they close the roads. Too dangerous. We'll just
Information Centre and walk in the snow! My feet sink into it I completely jubilant! I have the feeling of having 12 years! I'm too happy! I love it!
Cedric juggling with snowballs!
Castle Tongariro
Our van is in his element as the design on the side is the same mountain!
We will then head Turangi where we only go and it stops Lookout on the road to beautiful with the lake before the snow-capped mountains!
We head to Taupo, largest city. A quick stop for me McDonalds: Chicken and Sweet Chili Sauce Tender that I miss so much in France!
Then we go out of town at Craters of the Moon. A huge park with a walk of one hour. It moves through the craters which give off lots of sulfur and smoke. This is the region! Throughout the park you can see columns of smoke emerge from the ground was fun! In some huge craters we see the mud that makes big bubbles. With beautiful weather, it's great! Then mounted atop a small hill to get an overview.
a mud bath?
then taken the van that station in town. Cedric goes to the library and I will take a turn in the center.
Then we will have 3 races and then we'll fill our gas cylinder at the gas station. It does not understand what to do, fortunately a guy from the station to the fact us!
We will then park near the toilets to wash dishes and eat. We sleep after Taupo on a picnic area.
Superb show of the night sky! I feel small facing this huge sky.
I realize how lucky I am to be here. I'm in NEW ZEALAND! at the other end of the world! I did it!
I also realize that the small worries of life are nothing compared to the immensity of life that we have to discover. Yes I know it'll take much to get carried away!
