How Do I Untag Myself In A Post On Facebook?

The Future of Francophone Africa plays in Côte d'Ivoire

APPA

Release, February 2, 2011

Called to the polls Sunday, January 23 for the 1 st round of parliamentary elections and presidential elections, the Central Africans have been In general indifference, a sham election again. The association Survival, fighting tirelessly against impunity in French Africa, denounces the support of French authorities and the lack of reaction from European authorities to maintain the dictatorship of Francois Bozize, supposedly re-elected with 66.08% of the vote. Paris, Brussels and the UN
, focusing solely on the Cote d'Ivoire, proving once again focused selective interest in the presidential elections in Africa.
The CAR has lived since 1960 under the sign of violence, inaugurated by the disappearance of the "founding father of the Central African Republic" Barthelemy Boganda. Under the tutelage of current Bozize, who seized power in 2003 by a coup, there are countless abuses by security forces against the population and political assassinations, impunity is the rule. Thus the family of the President of the Central African League for Human Rights, the very brave Goungaye Wanfiyo, still awaits
investigation into too suspicious road accident that claimed his life in December 2008. Moreover, opposition demands an international investigation into the disappearance in January 2009, rebel leader Charles Massi, who was kidnapped in Chad, delivered the Presidential Guard of Francois Bozize and presumed death under torture, were not pursued.
It does not prevented the French military support Bozize against several armed rebellions, including taking part in combat, as in 2006 and 2007, alongside the CAR armed forces, which nevertheless committed before their eyes to serious abuses against civilians. That does not bother investors as French Areva to conclude contracts promising introduced in cases in Bangui by the very French-African Patrick Balkany - UMP - and Fabien Sin
gaye
- adviser Francois Bozize - . Survival indignant that institutions and governments that claim to defend democracy remain silent before the conduct of these elections: polling organization sloppy, no display voter lists, voting by proxy abuse, many voters irrelevant to the number of registered ballot stuffing ballot boxes or false, foreigners in possession of false voter registration cards, etc.. The fiasco denounced by several opponents who wish to file appeals with the Constitutional Court, was sadly predictable. Indeed, France's ambassador in Bangui for months displayed unwavering support to President-dictator out, confirmed by the new Minister of International Cooperation Henry Raincourt who said in early December " an election campaign as it takes place [everywhere] where democracy is the prevailing political system, can now engage .

This complacent attitude of the French authorities is the same as in rigged elections in 2009 in Congo - Brazzaville, Gabon and Tunisia, or November 2010 in Burkina Faso , which helped renew notorious dictators in countries where French influence, economic and political, remains crucial. The European Union finances the Central electoral masquerade with the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) for 9.5 million euros on 16 million of the total cost but did not send observation mission. In this contribution France is providing 500,000 euros, for both the IEC (Independent Electoral Commission) and for viewing by the International Organization of la Francophonie, which is used to validate the expected results by issuing vague reservations about considered minor irregularities. These amounts are recorded in European aid.
The location of the CAR and its resources (diamonds, uranium, wood, ivory) made it a lot preferred that France has always sought to tightly control, depriving the Central African people of any opportunity to establish an independent state. This organized looting condemns people to poverty and violence, while the ruling clan scandalously enriched by selling the country's resources to foreign exploiters. Contribute to the renewal of this system is criminal.
Survival Association Calls for French and European authorities:

-
finally cease to support by all means a predatory regime based on violence,
- ; promote the emergence of the rule of law including ending impunity for war criminals found in the Central
- condition the funding of elections to the holding of an election process that ensures truly non-fraudulent elections.
